Discussion Topic # 6

The Victorian education
system requires students to make decisions about their educational and career
future when they are very young and without much life experience. The SEAL
program at Box Hill HS (and others?) allows students an extra year to explore
topics in which they may develop an interest, leading them to a wider range of
career choices or opportunities to contribute to the community.

I agree with what you say Alison. The capacity of the BHHS SEAL program, as well as the newly introduced S4 level subjects, to foster the development of a broader range of interests in students is one of the great strengths of the school in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteYear 10 SEAL in 2018 at BHHS was a disaster. Ms Spörri clearly hates the job. The school was so bad the point they let year 10s who refuse to try sit unit 1 and 2 classes. Yeah. I dropped out.
ReplyDeleteYear 9 is the lost year.
Year 10 is the dropout year for mainstream public schools that completely suck.
